His first task was to bring back the skin of a lion that feared everyone around the hills of Nemea.
When he first went to Nemea he realized that his arrows wouldn’t work against the lion.
He followed the lion to a double entrance cave and blocked off one of the entrances and choked the lion to death.
When Hercules made it back to Mycenae, Eurystheus was amazed that Hercules did such an impossible task.
The king became afraid of Hercules, and forbade him from entering through the gates of the city.
Eurystheus had a large bronze jar made and buried partway in the earth, where he could hide from Hercules if he had too.
After that, Eurystheus sent his commands to Hercules through a herald, refusing to see Hercules face to face.
The Augean stables
The Augean stables were Hercules fifth labor.
Hercules had to clean up King Augeas stables
He had to clean up after the cattle in a single day.
Hercules asked Augeas to give him 10% of his cattle if he cleaned it in a single day.
Augeas agreed because he was surprised.
Hercules mad two big holes in the wall of the cattle yard, he dug two wide trenches to two rivers which flowed nearby and made the water wipe out all of the mess.
