Pegasus was an eternal flying horse which sprang forth from the neck of Medusa when she was topped by the hero Perseus.

Bellephoron the son of Poseidon who admires horses and desires to capture Pegasus.
*
*
With the advice of a seer and Athena he received a magical bridle; with it he successfully captured the Pegasus.
*
*
When he arrived to the king to marry his daughter then he falsely accused of murder and kicked out of the town.
*
*
The king’s wife accused him of seducing her so the king was enraged and told him to take a sealed note to his father in law(Iopates) and so the unrevealing of this note caused awareness of accusation against Bellephoron.

Subsequently, Iopates directs Bellephoron on series of quests: 1) to kill the Chimera 2) conquer the Solymi tribe and battle the amazons.
*
*
He was triumphant in all three quests; in fear Iopates traps Bellephoron who murdered the entire army.
*
*
Iopates has an epiphany and makes amends with Bellerophon by giving him half his kingdom, the best farm, and one of his daughters to be his wife.
*
*
Crazy thing is that Bellephoron had everything anybody could ever want but he was still not satisfied.
*
*
In attempt to live like the gods, he rides Pegasus but since he was stung by Zeus, it caused him be thrown off the horse.
*
*
He survived the fall but is crippled and cursed forever because he offended the gods , but free to wonder the Earth.
